Your day in Quality

At 7:00 a.m., you step onto the production floor and connect with the Quality Manager to align on priorities. You pull samples from active production lots and incoming materials, then put them through dimensional and functional checks using precision measurement tools. You keep a close eye on line flow—verifying quality without slowing production—while logging results, updating inspection reports, and trending key process metrics in Excel.

Mid-morning, you review any out-of-spec findings, open or track corrective and preventive actions, and coordinate with production, maintenance, and engineering to resolve issues quickly. When gauges or other critical tools are due, you perform or arrange calibration and maintenance on schedule. You coach operators on inspection methods as needed and immediately escalate any urgent quality or compliance concerns.

Throughout the week, you help prepare for and participate in internal and external ISO audits. You work within our Quality and Environmental Management Systems, follow established procedures, and contribute ideas to improve both product and process quality. And when something unexpected comes up, you pitch in—performing other related duties to keep standards high and customers satisfied.

What you’ll be responsible for

• Testing and inspecting products and processes at multiple manufacturing stages to confirm they meet company standards and customer specifications.
• Protecting throughput by monitoring product integrity without impeding production rates.
• Verifying shipment readiness against customer quality requirements.
• Collecting data, trending inspection metrics, and maintaining clear, accurate inspection reports.
• Initiating and tracking corrective and preventive actions, applying sound technical judgment and problem-solving methods.
• Training production team members in inspection techniques and quality procedures when needed.
• Ensuring timely calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment and other critical tools.
• Collaborating cross-functionally to resolve inspection and compliance issues promptly.
• Communicating quality or compliance concerns with urgency.
• Operating within Quality and Environmental Management System policies, objectives, and obligations.
• Participating in internal and external ISO audits.

Schedule

8-hour shifts, Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. Every other Sunday, you’ll work a 4-hour shift to uphold quality standards. Some evening, weekend, and overtime work may be required.

Skills that set you up for success (Preferred)

• Hands-on experience using and calibrating precision measurement instruments.
• Ability to read and interpret technical data, mechanical drawings, and product specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and high ethical standards.
• Comfort working independently with minimal supervision and collaborating effectively when needed.
• Proficiency in data analysis, critical thinking, communication, and problem solving.

Education and experience

• High school diploma or GED (required).
• Additional education and/or 3–5 years in manufacturing quality assurance (preferred).
• Microsoft Word and Excel proficiency (required).

Physical requirements

• Comfort working in a manufacturing setting with hot/cold indoor temperatures, dust, and noise during 8-hour shifts.
• Prolonged sitting and/or standing on concrete floors; frequent walking; occasional bending and squatting.
• Frequent reaching; repetitive use of wrists, hands, and fingers.
