Extended Job Title Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Room Position Description Employees in this classification perform responsible professionalnursing care at a unit of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.Responsible for the care and treatment of patients in accordancewith accepted nursing and medical standards administrative nursingpersonnel. Supervises other subordinate clinic personnel. Work isperformed under correctional clinic conditions; position requires ahigh degree of contact with patients, other clinic personnel andoutside professionals. Requisition ID 45769BR Optional Attachments Professional/Personal Reference Travel Required None Pay Grade Maximum $42.00 hourly Major/Essential Functions Communicates patient data and documents interventions using theElectronic Medical Record (EMR) to support decision-making to improve patient care. Assists with or performs exams, assessments and procedures anddocuments intervention in EMR procedures. Operates necessaryequipment and instruments for examinations, treatments, andprocedures. Administer or assist with administration and documentation oforal, parenteral, or IV medications, oxygen, and/or nebulizertreatments. Administer or assist with administration or documentation ofmedications. Screen sick call requests within 24 hour of receipt. Providesnursing sick calls to offenders from psychiatric services and theTrusty Camp. Perform nursing clinic in the Primary Care Clinic oron the pods. Responds to emergencies. Performs advanced technical proceduresand skills. Avoid Hypothermia, Hypovolemia, and Environmentalexposure. Assist in admissions, discharges and transfers. Prepares and operates necessary equipment and instruments for examinations, treatments, and procedures. Maintains working knowledge of current issues and treatmentmodalities. In addition to the base position compensation, we offer shiftdifferential pay for night and weekend shifts: Registered Nurse Shift Differential Day Shift Employees: Earn an extra $4.00 per hour for shiftsworked on Saturday and Sunday. Night Shift Employees: Earn an extra $4.00 per hour for shifts worked Monday throughFriday. Earn an extra $8.00 per hour for shifts worked on Saturday andSunday. Grant Funded?
