MC Amb: Pharmacy Mtn View-( Full-Time, Day Job ) The Infusion Registered Nurse(RN)- Mountain View Pharmacy (MVP) demonstrates advanced clinical expertise and competency IV infusion therapy. Facilitates continuity of care by providing education and training to all ages of patients, their families and their caregivers prior to discharge from the hospital episode of care. Provides additional education and training post discharge at Mountain View Pharmacy training center or in the patients’ home for follow‑up as needed based on complexity of ordered therapy and level of understanding of patient, family or caregiver. Influences the reduction of patient re‑admission rates by ensuring patient, family and caregiver understand discharge instructions. Serves as a liaison and resource for patients and the home health agencies serving the patients to ensure quality IV infusion therapies in the home environment. Collaborates with patients, family, health care agencies, pharmacy, physicians, and case managers to ensure the patient has the required equipment, supplies, to administer ordered treatment. Provides a wide variety of educational presentations to LLUH entities, home health agencies, physicians, case manager, and contractors, tailors information to target audience, ensures all educational programs meet institutional standards and regulatory requirements. Applies theoretical concepts to clinical practice and exhibits self‑motivation to continually expand knowledge base and clinical skills with a focus in IV therapy infusions and patient population served. Researches, evaluates and maintains current and up‑to‑date information on new products, IV administration techniques, and other related clinical practice products and best practices. Participates in the development of evidenced‑based and best practice policies, techniques and guidelines for outpatients receiving IV. Contributes to a work environment of caring and cooperation among a culturally diverse workforce and patient population. Utilizes effective interpersonal skills to maximize excellence in customer service and follows service excellence best practices to improve and maintain high patient, and family satisfaction scores. Demonstrates solid service recovery methodologies and resolves issues expressed from dissatisfied customers. This position serves in a dual report position to the Director of Pharmacy and the Director of Patient Care for Nursing. Performs other duties as needed. Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) required. If hired in a position in a Loma Linda University Health entity prior to July 1, 2022, an Associate Degree or Diploma Degree in Nursing required. Minimum of two years’ experience in clinical nursing required. Minimum of two years’ experience in acute care setting, home health or home infusion preferred. Experience in IV therapy preferred. Active California registered nurse (RN) License required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS), and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications issued by the American Heart Association required. Pediatric Advanced Life support (PALS) certification issued by American Heart Association required by the end of introductory period. Demonstrates advanced knowledge and competencies in intravenous infusion, adult learning principles, legal aspects of care, and evidenced‑based clinical practice standards required. Basic knowledge of healthcare regulations and accreditation required. Ability to apply theoretical concepts to clinical practice and continually expand knowledge base and clinical skills with a focus in continuum of care and area of specialty and population served. Exhibits professional behavior at all times, works calmly and responds courteously when under pressure and display personal qualities such as respect, discretion and confidentiality. Able to: speak, read and write legibly in English (and Spanish preferred) with professional quality; use computer, printer and software programs necessary to the position, e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams, electronic medical record, electronic event reporting program. Demonstrates professional competency and ability to develop and champion clinical outcome improvements. Must demonstrate flexibility and ability to adeptly reset priorities as needed. Must have highly developed oral and written communication skills in English and make public presentations to large and small audiences. Must be able to work effectively with physician, nursing, administrative and ancillary staff. Able to inspire and motivate others. Relate and communicate positively, effectively and professionally with others; be assertive and consistent in following and enforcing policies; lead, supervise, teach and collaborate; accept direction; think critically; perform basic math and statistical functions; manage multiple assignments effectively and meet aggressive deadlines; organize and prioritize workload; utilize problem‑solving methodologies in a proactive and creative manner; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail; use sound judgment based on factual information and clinical knowledge; set goals and work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision; demonstrate efficient time management and prioritize fluctuating workload and to meet position demands; troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment; perform technical patient care activities related to position; distinguish colors and smells as necessary for patient care; discern temperature variances through touch; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone; identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the work place; see adequately to read computer screens, medical records and written documents necessary to position. #J-18808-Ljbffr
