Patient Care Technician

PCT IUnder the direction of the Registered Nurse, the PCT I at Franciscan performs delegated patient care activities in a manner that is aligned with the age-specific and beneficial needs of the patient. Franciscan Health takes pride in hiring coworkers who provide compassionate, comprehensive care for our patients and the communities we serve.What You Can Expect:Day shift 7am- 5:30pm4 days a weekOne Saturday every 6 weeks from 7am-12pmPCTs will conduct phlebotomy/ blood draws and EKGs in addition to:Performing activities of daily living (ADLs): bathing, oral care, grooming (shaving), urinary catheter and ostomy care; assist with meals and feeding; assist with positioning, ambulation, and mobilization; assist with elimination and toileting.Screening/Collection/Recording data & information: vital signs, intake & output, weights, specimen collection.Restock patient room and unit supplies, perform equipment checks.Transport patients by wheelchair, cart, bed, bassinet.Answer patient call-lights, telephones, Vocera.Qualifications:Preferred High School Diploma/GEDNursing student after having completed 1st semester of clinicals RequiredCertified Nurse Assistant (CNA) RequiredPrior PCT experience in another acute care health care organization RequiredAfter completion of Franciscan PCT In-training program RequiredBasic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association Franciscan will provide BLS training and recertification as needed.Travel is required: Never or RarelyEqual Opportunity Employer:It is the policy of Franciscan Alliance to provide equal employment to its employees and qualified applicants for employment as otherwise required by an applicable local, state or Federal law.
