Strategy and Operations Associate Director, Cell & Genetic Therapy Research

Responsibilities Translate enterprise and disease area strategies into CGT Research-specific execution plans, including capacity requirements, shared platform constraints, sequencing decisions, resource trade-offs, and key milestones. Frame strategic options/trade-offs for leadership decision-making with decision-ready analysis (execution risks, resource constraints, cross-functional dependencies). Conduct scenario planning and options analysis with the Head of LC Research Strategy & Operations and LC Research Site Head. Drive goal setting, prioritization frameworks, and execution risk management across research functions; improve operating processes, coordination, and efficiency. Partner with Finance on OpEx planning, headcount management, and resource allocation aligned to strategic priorities. Create executive communications (presentations, briefing materials, decision documents) and synthesize complex scientific/operational/strategic information for diverse audiences. Coordinate cross-functional teams (PPM, DSTs, Finance/HR/Operations and enabling functions) to ensure alignment on priorities, constraints, interdependencies, decisions, and action plans. Support RS&O Head as liaison between LC Research and BD/External Innovation by translating external opportunities into research implications. Qualifications PhD in biology (or related); 8+ years’ experience; MBA/Consulting background preferred. Experience advising research leadership on strategic/operational topics. Cross-functional execution experience with medium- to large-scale projects.
