Role Description Full-time, hybrid, on-site & remote position based in Merced, CA. We are seeking a motivated and detail oriented Paraplanner to support our advisory team in delivering world-class client experience. This role blends financial planning analysis, client service, and advisory support. You’ll work closely with lead advisors to prepare financial plans, support meeting preparation and follow up, handle client service requests, and help facilitate plan implementation. Work with the corporate office to ensure accurate account setup and resolve issues, organizing, preparing, and updating financial plans, client data, and analyzing financial information to identify strategies that align with clients’ goals. Day-to-day responsibilities include client communication, researching investment options, compiling reports, and assisting with portfolio reviews and recommendations. The role also involves drafting client documents, maintaining accurate records in financial planning software, and coordinating with advisors to prepare for client meetings and follow-up actions. Key Responsibilities 50% Business Management Answer questions and provide readily available information to clients, if requested and as allowable, as it relates to servicing their accounts Maintain files and records in accordance with the records retention policy Perform other allowable duties as assigned by the financial advisor and associate financial advisor Provide insight and recommendations to effectively use key tools (MOD, Go Social, Advisor website, etc.) that help lead to results in practice Coordinate client appreciation events and seminars 50% Client Care Call clients or prospects to set up meetings or appointments Attend and participate in client meetings, if necessary Process transaction requests as directed by financial advisor and associate financial advisor Ability to multi-task Ability to adhere to rules and regulations as stated and required by advisor & Ameriprise Financial Ability to support and provide guidance for compliance within the advisor’s practice Positive attitude and sincere willingness to constantly learn and grow Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Financial Planning and Finance skills, with the ability to interpret client data and develop comprehensive planning scenarios. Candidates should possess solid Analytical Skills to evaluate investment options, identify trends, and support data-driven recommendations. Candidates should possess working knowledge of Investments and related products, including risk and return characteristics. Candidates should possess clear and concise Report Writing capabilities to prepare financial plans, summaries, and client communications. Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related field preferred. Proficiency with financial planning software, CRM tools, and Microsoft Office applications. Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, client-focused environment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a commitment to ethical conduct and client confidentiality. Progress towards or interest in professional designations (such as CFP) is a plus.
