School Clerk - Bilingual Preferred

Job Title: Clerk (encompasses Media, Guidance, Office and Attendance areas) This position provides clerical support and assistance to the students and staff of the assigned school whether working in the media center, guidance office, or front school office.
Qualifications:
ONLY Media Clerks are required to meet the "Highly Qualified" standard. To do so, they must satisfy one of the following qualifications:
• An Associate's Degree from an accredited institution;
• Possess 60 credit hours from an accredited U.S. college or university; or
• Achieve the necessary scores on a state-approved assessment, such as the WIN, WorkKeys or Parapro Test. For additional details, visit the Greenville County School website. From the homepage, go to the Jobs section and choose Classified Positions. Other Qualifications include:
• Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Prior experience working in an office setting required; with school office setting experience preferred
• Ability and willingness to work well with others required
• Strong communication skills required
• Intermediate knowledge of computer systems/programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, databases, etc.) required; experience with PowerSchool is preferred Responsibilities:
• Maintain attendance, financial, student permanent file, supply or other records for the school depending upon specific clerk position
• Assist the students, staff and parents as needed
• Perform a variety of clerical duties including, but not limited to, preparing reports, completing required forms, answering phones, assisting with student registration, establishing and/or maintaining student files, processing student transfers, copying, filing, faxing, typing, and communicating with students and parents
• Attend intervention conferences (Attendance Clerks only)
• Provide library services as requested by Media Specialist (Media Clerks only)
• Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor
• Specific duties of the individual position will be further discussed in the interview Other information:
Reports To:
This position reports to the Principal of the assigned school, but in the instance of a Media Clerk or Guidance Clerk, is also monitored daily by the Media Specialist and Guidance Counselor respectively.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with Board Policy. Terms of Employment:
These clerical positions are paid on the Support/Non-Exempt Salary Schedule in Grade I unless otherwise noted. Media and Guidance Clerk positions typically work 9 ¼ months (185 days) per year. Office and Attendance Clerks typically work 10 months (200 days) per year.
