Senior Engineering Project Manager

System One is seeking a high-caliber Senior Engineering Project Manager to join our Project Management Department in Charlotte, NC. The key requirement for this role is ownership of engineering design delivery within the EPC lifecycle on a combined cycle project. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of project execution, from early-phase design and vendor management through to start-up and commissioning (Ownership of engineering phases (design/tendering/deliverables).

Senior Engineering Project Manager responsibilities include:

• Strategic Leadership: Provide vision and direction for project staff while assuming full accountability for budget compliance, schedule adherence, and the quality of all technical deliverables.
• Large-Cap Management: Lead mid-to-large capital power projects, specifically Combined Cycle Power Plants, with a Total Installed Cost (TIC) of $100MM+.
• Global Coordination: Successfully manage and integrate work with overseas High Value Engineering (HVE) offices and diverse multidisciplinary teams.
• Project Controls: Monitor, report, and control project costs and productivity; manage Change Management (ECNs) to ensure project profitability and scope integrity.
• Client Relations: Act as the primary liaison with clients to ensure all contractual requirements are met and to identify new business opportunities through relationship building.
• Team Development: Recruit, train, and coach project personnel to maintain optimal staffing levels and high technical performance.
• Field Engagement: Perform field walk-downs and data collection, necessitating physical activity (climbing) and travel to job sites.

Senior Engineering Project Manager requirements:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.
• Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly preferred.
• Experience: 15–20 years of experience in Power projects, with a heavy emphasis on combined cycle plants.
• Must have EPC Engineering design delivery for combine cycle projects
• Managing large multi-discipline engineering teams; leading the engineering phase of EPC projects; and delivering the engineering and design package to construction
• Leadership Track Record: Minimum of 8–10 years specifically in a Project Manager role managing a diverse portfolio of small to large-cap projects.
• Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills; highly organized and self-directed with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced team environment.
• Flexibility: Willingness to travel and work in both office and field environments.
