Child Care Center Director

Salary: $65,000–$75,000 annually
Sign on Bonus: $1,000
Location: Kings Park, NY
Schedule: Full-Time - Monday - Friday

The Learning Experience is seeking an experienced Child Care Center Director to lead our Kings Park early childhood education center.

This hands-on leadership role is ideal for someone who enjoys developing teachers, building relationships with families, growing enrollment, and creating an exceptional environment for children and staff.

What You'll Do

• Lead daily operations of a licensed childcare center
• Recruit, coach, develop, and retain a strong teaching team
• Build a positive, collaborative center culture
• Maintain compliance with New York childcare licensing, health, and safety requirements
• Ensure high-quality early learning and consistent curriculum implementation
• Build strong relationships with children, families, and staff
• Lead center tours and support enrollment and family retention
• Monitor staffing, labor, enrollment, budgets, and center performance
• Maintain accurate staff and child records
• Support local marketing and community engagement

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of childcare center management or people leadership experience required; 2+ years preferred
• Must meet applicable New York State requirements for the Center Director role
• Early childhood education or licensed childcare experience strongly preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, Business, or related field preferred
• Knowledge of childcare licensing, health, safety, and classroom quality standards
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Must meet applicable background screening, health, and training requirements
