The following part-time co-op positions are available starting in the 2026-27 school year:

Wheat Educational Campus Early Childhood Program Part-Time Co-Op Assistants

(Hours for a typical week range from 10-25 hours per week based on applicant availability, enrollment, and child-to-teacher ratio requirements. Schedules vary from week to week.)

These positions are non-affiliated positions and not part of any union group.

Certification Requirements & Qualifications

• Minimum 16 years and older
• Preference given to high school students participating in the Teacher Cadet program
• Preference given to college students carrying at least 9 credits per semester in a child related field or teacher prep program
• Previous experience working with early childhood age children (preferred)
• Understanding of basic office equipment
• Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check

Responsibilities/Job Description

• Read to students in large and small group settings
• Assist lead teacher/caregiver in taking student attendance
• Assist lead teacher/caregiver with students with their clothing and hygiene
• Assist lead teacher/caregiver with mealtimes and cleanup routines
• Assist lead teacher/caregiver with arrival and dismissal
• Assist the lead teacher/caregiver with diapering and toilet routines
• Alert the lead teacher/caregiver to any problem or special information about an individual student
• Maintain the same level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students, as is expected of fully licensed teachers, lead teachers/caregivers

Participate in required licensing training, as assigned

Guide children in working and playing appropriately with other children

Work effectively with students individually, in small or large groups

Work with lead teacher/caregiver to complete any necessary tasks

Communicate appropriately with others as needed to share important child information

Work with lead teachers/caregivers to utilize all district and licensing required processes

Understand and follow all licensing requirements

Ability to be flexible in hours as required by state ratios

Other duties as assigned

Compensation

• Hourly wage of $16.71/hr
• Discounts for Lakeview Employees who work a minimum of 15 hours per week
