Job Title

Registered Nurse – IMC / PCU / Stepdown (Telemetry Intermediate)

Galesburg, IL

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Onsite | Every other weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) | Every other holiday required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 26-bed Telemetry Intermediate Care unit with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4 or 1:5
• Monitor and manage patients with diagnoses including CHF, COVID pneumonia, Atrial Fibrillation with RVR, tachy/brady syndrome, and syncope
• Administer and manage telemetry-related medications including Cardizem, Lasix, renal dopamine, and nitroglycerin under central telemetry monitoring
• Operate and monitor non-invasive respiratory support equipment including BiPAP, CPAP, High Flow, and Vapotherm (no ventilators)
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC EMR
• Float to other units as needed, maintaining the same patient ratio of 1:5

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license, or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
• Current BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR
• Ability to pass a drug screen; must comply with a drug-free workplace policy

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a telemetry, intermediate care, PCU, or stepdown nursing environment
• Familiarity with central telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Experience managing patients on BiPAP, CPAP, High Flow oxygen, or Vapotherm
