Respiratory TherapistProvide professional respiratory therapy to the patients of NSHC, ensuring quality assurance, scheduling, productivity, and budget.Uphold the organization's vision, mission, and corporate values. Demonstrate understanding of and compliance with organization's policies, procedures, code of conduct and work rules.Essential Functions:Provide diagnosis and treatment of patients with pulmonary and cardiovascular disordersCollect and analyze of sputum, blood, and breath specimens to determine levels of oxygen, carbon dioxide, and other gases as well as measurement of the lung capacity of a patient to determine if there is impaired functionGather data and document informationParticipate in patient education effortsPerform other duties as assignedPersonal Traits:All Norton Sound Health Corporation employees are expected to consistently demonstrate the organization's values: integrity, cultural sensitivity and respect for traditional values, continual learning and improving, compassion, teamwork and pride. Finally, all employees should have the ability to understand and manage patient/customer confidentiality.Job specific skills and abilities are listed below:Ability to operate in-house and transport ventilators, EKG machines/equipment, pulse oximeters, PFT equipment, ABG, and similar equipmentAbove average customer service skillsMinimum Requirements:Education - Degree - ProgramAssociate's Degree - Respiratory TherapyExperience - General (Non-supervisory) - SupervisoryAmount: - 2 year(s)in a clinical respiratory therapy practice - 0 (years)Type:Must have both general and supervisory experience if indicated.Credentials - Licensure, Certification, Etc.Alaska license in Respiratory Therapy, NBRC Certification or Registration, BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP,Physical Requirements:Use hands and arms to operate office or clinical equipmentSit more than half the workdayStand and/or walk less than half the workdayBend, stretch, twist, crouch and/or reachView electronic monitors for prolonged periods of timeUse hands and arms for repetitive motion tasksLift or carry unaided less than 25 poundsPush or pull using up to moderate forceSee and hear with normal acuityWorking Conditions:Work is conducted in a standard clinical environment to include exposure to latex, biohazard or other harmful substancesMinimal travel is required (less than 25% of the time)Travel is required via large aircraftTravel is required via small (less than 16 passenger) aircraftI attest that I do not have any physical, mental or medical impairment or disability that would limit my job performance.
