Description of Work SALARY RANGE: $39,731.00 - $65,611.00 The Office of the District Attorney, Prosecutorial District 18, seeks a qualified candidate to provide legal support services to the prosecutors in the Orange County office. Duties include but are not limited to the following: assist victims and witnesses understand and prepare for court assist the public type correspondence answer phones prepare legal documents prepare files gather information to assist in the prosecution of cases and other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies Knowledge of: court system and procedures legal terminology community resources to refer victims and witnesses Skill in: Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint accurately typing 35-40 wpm answering a multi-line telephone system Ability to: interview to elicit information from victims and witnesses to assure appropriate services coordinate and schedule the daily operations of the victim and witness program manage the court appearances of victims and witnesses to ensure their presence in the courtroom when needed communicate orally and in writing with persons of diverse backgrounds establish and maintain effective working relationships with law enforcement officers, officials of related agencies and the general public and calmly handle stressful situations Minimum Education and Experience Some state job postings say you can qualify by an “equivalent combination of education and experience.” If that language appears below, then you may qualify through EITHER years of education OR years of directly related experience, OR a combination of both.
