Shift Friday 6:30 to 5pm, Saturday and Sunday 6:30am to 7pm Work Arrangement On-site Department Operating Room Facility University Hospital - 1 Hospital Drive, Columbia, MO Compensation Base Pay Range: $27.21 to $42.99 per hour, based on experience Special Pay: Additional $1.88 per hour until January 2, 2027 Shift Differentials: Additional $6 per hour for weekend Retention Rewards: Up to $15,000 Relocation Support: Additional $5,000 if moving from over 50 miles away Retention Reward (Option 1): $2,000 per year for up to 5 years, totaling $10,000 Student Loan Repayment (Option 2): $2,000 per year toward student loans, up to 5 years, totaling $10,000 Note: Details will be provided during the HR interview. Responsibilities Anticipate the needs of the surgical team. Assist with the teaching of newly hired technologists and student technologists. Serve as a role model to new employees and other staff members. Communicate effectively with patients, staff members, and physicians. Adhere to standards, including unit and hospital policies, regulatory standards, and patient safety goals. Demonstrate appropriate and correct case preparation. Establish and maintain sterile field and assure the team maintains sterile environment independently. Apply basic knowledge of instrumentations to multiple surgical cases. Correct deficiencies at the case level. Perform technical duties involving care, preparation and maintenance of sterile and non-sterile supplies and equipment in the operating rooms to provide a safe and effective environment. May complete unit/department specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents. Required Qualifications Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification by National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA), or Certified Operating Room Surgical Technician (CORST) certification by National Health Career Association (NHA), or Technician in Surgery – Certified (TS‑C) certification by National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT). Preferred Qualifications Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
