Director of Safety and SecurityDowntown Library - Oklahoma City, OKSalary Range $95,388.80 - $124,030.40 Salary Level Experienced Position Type Full Time Education Level High School Travel Percentage Up to 25%DescriptionJOB SUMMARY: The Director of Safety and Security provides strategic leadership and direction for the Library's safety, security, emergency preparedness, and risk management programs. Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, this position establishes systemwide standards, oversees security resources, and uses incident trends and emerging risks to strengthen safety across the system. The Director works closely with library leadership to ensure safety and security practices support welcoming library environments and outstanding public service.This position will be assigned to the Operations division of Metropolitan Library System, located at the Ronald J. Norick Downtown Library at 300 Park Place in Oklahoma City, OK.The hiring salary for this position is $95,388.80 annually. This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week. This position is exempt from the federal Fair Labor Standards Act. This position is classified as safety-sensitive. The candidate should be available to work all hours the library is open, including some weekends and evenings and have specific availability to work Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 5:00 pm with occasional nights and weekends and availability to respond to emergencies on a 24/7 basis.*Hours are subject to change based on the needs of the department.The Metropolitan Library System offers a comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees:Health benefits that include medical, dental, vision and prescription coverage paid in full for Employee-only coverage (Family coverage available)Flexible Spending AccountsVacation Leave @ 8 hours per monthSick leave @ 8 hours per monthTwelve paid holidays (subject to date of hire)Defined Contribution (retirement) plan where employee contributes 6% and is matched at 10% (required participation for full-time employees)QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Education and Experience:High School diploma or GED; andTen (10) years of security, law enforcement, or military experience working directly with the public; andTwo (2) years of experience leading safety or security operations, programs, or personnel.ORBachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; andFive (5) years of security, law enforcement, or military experience working directly with the public; andTwo (2) years of experience leading safety or security operations, programs, or personnel.Licenses and Certifications: Required within 120 days of hire:Oklahoma Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training (CLEET) Armed Security Guard LicensePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in criminal justice, law enforcement, or a related field.Incident Command (ICS) 100, 200, 700, and 800 certificationsOccupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 10 or 30-hour trainingCrisis Intervention Training (CIT) certificationAccident investigation experience or certificationAmerican Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) International member, Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Professional Certified Investigator (PCI), Associate Protection Professional (APP), or Certified Security Professional (CSP) certification
