Responsible for overall safety, profitability, production performance, capital planning, workforce leadership, and long term operational sustainability.Main Responsibilities:Embrace the Company's safety culture, actively support all safety initiatives, and adhere to defined accountabilities implemented by the Simon Steering and Continuous Improvement teamsSupport, promote, and practice the Company's core values, vision, and mission; follow code of ethics, workplace conduct, safety, and other established policiesDirect all aspects of operations related to manufacturing in assigned area to support achievement of established performance indicator targets related to safety, production, quality, and financial performanceEstablish budgets and production schedules, prepare monthly forecasts, and monitor operational performanceEnsure compliance with applicable laws and regulations related to manufacturing operationsProvide leadership, coaching, performance management, and development for the asphalt plant operations team and other manufacturing leaders within the assigned areaEstablish performance expectations for plant leadership teams and ensure consistent execution of operational, safety, quality, and financial objectives across all assigned facilitiesEnsure collaboration, communication, team development, and recognition by establishing effective communication channels, leading team meetings, etc.Develop and coordinate implementation of plans for efficient use of materials, equipment, and employeesActively monitor market trends and anticipate production needs; adapt processes and coordinate production schedules in conjunction with sales, construction, and quality control teams to meet internal and external demandActively participate in bidding and estimating processes including review and analysis of bid resultsPrepare profit and loss reports for manufacturing operations; present operational budgets to senior managementDevelop and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders, including internal teams and external vendors, customers, representatives of local/county/state government and industry partnersDevelop long-range manufacturing strategies, capital improvement plans, and operational initiatives to support growth, sustainability, and operational excellenceCoordinate with asset management team to develop capital expense budget to support sustainability and growthReview production costs and product quality, and modify production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operationsEducation:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or similar field of study; and/or equivalent combination of education and experienceCurrent MSHA Certification and/or ability to obtain may be requiredValid drivers' license and ability to maintain a clean motor vehicle record requiredSkills:8+ years of experience in aggregate mining, construction materials manufacturing (ready-mix, aggregates, and/or asphalt) or similar area preferred5+ years of experience effectively handling, leading, motivating and developing teamsWorking knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local agency regulations (OSHA, MSHA, DEQ, DOT, etc.)Experience handling budgets and performing in-depth financial analysisSelf-directed, driven by results, and highly motivated, requiring minimal direct guidanceAbility to effectively manage multiple priorities, problem-solve, and work under consistent pressure of deadlinesDemonstrated proficiency using computer programs, including MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, etc.), and production/scheduling planning softwarePhysical Requirements:Wears and maintains required PPE (personal protective equipment) to ensure safe performance of job responsibilities as requiredRegularly lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds to handle materials, tools, and equipment essential job functions with or without assistanceRegularly uses hands to feel, handle, and manipulate objects, write, and operate a keyboard and/or mobile device to complete administrative tasks and support project documentationRegularly communicates (talks and hears) and uses visual acuity to exchange information, coordinate work, and maintain safe and effective job?site operationsFrequently stands, walks, sits, reaches, and stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls to access work areas and complete required tasksFrequently stands or works on feet for extended periods and walks across uneven terrain to navigate construction sites safely and effectivelyFrequently works in close proximity to heavy equipment and machinery to oversee field activitiesFrequently works in environments that may include loud noise, moving equipment, dust, or varying indoor/outdoor conditions depending on operational needsOccasionally experiences exposure to fuel, oil, and other chemicals associated with construction equipment and site activitiesAbility to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends; overnight travel may be requiredCompensation & Benefits:Compensation*: $135,000 - $160,000 DOE* Estimated target starting compensation; actual compensation to be determined based on assessment of an individual's qualifications, education, and experience relevant to the role.Application window anticipated to close on 11/08/2026;
