Optometry TechnicianWander Staffing seeks to add one (1) Optometry Technician to our team ASAP. This position is located in the Department of Optometry, San Antonio Military Medical Center, JBSA Fort Sam Houston, Texas 78234. Duties may include work at either the Jennifer Moreno Clinic (JMC) or the McWethy Troop Medical Clinic (TMC).Location: Department of Optometry, San Antonio Military Medical Center, JBSA Fort Sam Houston, Texas 78234. Duties may include work at either the Jennifer Moreno Clinic (JMC) or the McWethy Troop Medical Clinic (TMC).Type: Full-timeStart Date: ASAP (The credentialing/privileging process takes between 30-45 days)Pay:$28.12/hrW2PTO for vacations and sick time11 paid federal holidaysMedical and Dental plans, if desiredSchedule:M-F: 6:00 AM 3:00 PMUp to a 40-hour week, excluding federal holidays and training holidays.60 minutes for an unpaid lunch break.Qualifications and Requirements:Successfully completed a program for Optometry TechniciansBLSOne year of experience is preferredValid Driver’s LicenseMust be able to pass criminal history background checkDuties:Perform a wide range of optometric technician tasks in eye examinations and corrective procedures in support of the professional Optometry staffInterview patients to gather history on visual complaints, past eye injuries, and history of eye diseasesSets up equipment to conduct variety of diagnostic tests to include but are not limited to: lensometry; pupillary testing; PD measurements; color vision testing using the PIP color plates and red/green lens; depth perception testing using stereoscopic and stereo fly testing apparatus; screening and threshold visual field testing using the Humphrey Visual Field Tester and the FDT; obtains keratometer readings to include corneal topography; pachymetry; and performs posterior and anterior segment ocular photography using a retinal or anterior segment camera; oarlar coherave tomography, post & anterior.Order and dispense properly sized spectaclesTeach the insertion and removal of contact lensesAssists in and conducts visual therapy trainingWander Staffing does not discriminate based on race, sex, color, religion, national origin, age, disability, or veteran status in providing services or employment opportunities and benefits.All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment regardless of race, color, religion, sex, or national origin.Links:To learn more about Wander Staffing, please visit our website at #J-18808-Ljbffr WANDER STAFFING LLC
