Mainframe Automation/NetView Engineer

Salary: $68,000 - 108,000 per year Requirements:

• 7+ years of experience with IBM z/OS.
• 5+ years of IBM NetView administration and automation experience.
• Hands-on development experience with REXX, CLIST, and NetView automation.
• Experience designing event-driven operational automation solutions and supporting highly available enterprise mainframe environments.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure incidents and deliver long-term resiliency improvements.
• Expertise in IBM NetView for z/OS, including Automation Tables (AUTOTBL), Command Lists (CMDLISTs), event management, message automation, and operations management.
• Advanced REXX programming, CLIST development, automation scripting, event-processing logic, and automated recovery procedures.
• Knowledge of z/OS Communications Server, VTAM, TCP/IP, OMEGAMON integration, and enterprise monitoring solutions.
• Preferred: Experience with IBM System Automation for z/OS (SA z/OS), large financial services or banking environments, RACF and z/OS security controls, ITIL processes, ServiceNow, 24x7 enterprise production environments, and z/OS subsystems such as CICS, DB2, IMS, and MQ.
• Must live in or near Phoenix, AZ; Charlotte, NC; or Plano, TX, or be willing to relocate to one of these areas.

• Administer, maintain, configure, and support IBM NetView for z/OS and its automation infrastructure.
• Monitor NetView performance, availability, and operational effectiveness; manage definitions, policies, and operational controls.
• Design and develop automation using REXX, CLIST, and NetView Command Lists.
• Build automated recovery procedures, operational workflows, and reusable automation frameworks.
• Implement and maintain event-driven and message automation, notifications, and escalation procedures.
• Configure Automation Tables (AUTOTBL) and develop message-processing rules to identify, classify, and respond to system events.
• Implement proactive monitoring and alerting, and support enterprise event correlation and alert management.
• Reduce manual operator intervention through automation; participate in production support and incident resolution.
• Conduct root cause analysis of infrastructure and automation failures.
• Integrate NetView automation with z/OS Communications Server, VTAM, TCP/IP, OMEGAMON, and enterprise monitoring platforms.
• Support automation across Sysplex environments.
• Collaborate with operations, network, security, and systems programming teams.

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe NetView Engineer to support enterprise IBM z/OS environments with automation, monitoring, and operational resiliency solutions. This is a 12-month contract based in Phoenix, AZ; Dallas, TX; New Jersey; or Charlotte, NC, with three days onsite each week. Candidates must be based near Phoenix, Charlotte, or Plano, TX, or be willing to relocate to one of those areas.
