Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours (645 AM - 715 PM), every 3rd weekend Experience: - Minimum of 2 years of acute care RN experience License: - Registered Nurse Certifications: - BLS - ACLS - NIHSS Must-Have: - Proficient in neuro care - Epic experience Description: A professional nurse is accountable for the care of a group of patients. The Registered Nurse (RN) focuses on safe, effective patient and family-centered care, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes. The RN is responsible for assisting in maintaining a financially stable unit. The RN promotes personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education supported by a Practice Governance framework. The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members. Using the caring processes of the Kristin M. Swanson Model of Care, the RN assesses, develops, implements, and evaluates the plan of care. The RN focuses on patient and family comforts, education, and satisfaction. The RN applies educational and professional experiences in the delivery of quality care and mentoring/precepting staff. Job Responsibilities: Assessment: Performs assessments and reassessments per policy and procedures or as warranted by patient condition. Demonstrates the ability to make sound independent decisions. Development & Implementation: Initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care. Reviews and revises the plan as indicated. Collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary services. Utilizes resources appropriately to support the needs of the organization, patient, and family. Evaluation: Monitors and documents response to clinical interventions. Education: Facilitates, coordinates, provides, and evaluates education specific to patient and family needs. Meets needs for care, treatment, and services provided during the stay and at discharge. Leadership: Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel. Functions as a mentor and preceptor. Demonstrates, encourages, and facilitates teamwork. Identifies and communicates opportunities for improvement. Participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts. Implements practice changes and complies with regulatory standards. Participates in the Practice Governance model.
