Position Summary Odyssey has an exciting new opportunity providing Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) supporting the US Space Force mission to defend National Security Interests in Space as a Space Domain Awareness (SDA) Radar Systems Sustainment Engineer supporting the Eglin Radar in the Ground-based Sensors Branch of Combat Forces Command’s Integrated Mission Delta 2, 2nd Sustainment Squadron (CFC IMD 2/2STS). Odyssey Systems is looking for high-performing, passionate people ready to make a difference by joining our existing team of dedicated professionals in the SDA workforce!CFC IMD2/2STS integrates SDA operations with current SDA programs of record, networks, and Command and Control (C2) data exploitation and dissemination systems and is responsible for sustainment of existing ground-based optical and radar sensor systems including Eglin Radar, Space Fence, C-Band Radar, Australia, the Ground-Based Electro Optical Deep Space Surveillance (GEODSS) system, and the Space Surveillance Telescope (SST).Odyssey Systems provides A&AS support to the Government in five areas: Product Support, Sustainment Engineering & Sustainment Management, Technical Order Management, Technical User Interface, and System Design, Engineering, and Integration. These tasks are executed laterally with USSF SSC/SZB depot and development contractors and with SDA stakeholders. This is a full-time position at 2424 Garden of the Gods Road in Colorado Springs, CO with the potential for 1-2 days of tele-work per week at the discretion of the government. Responsibilities An A&AS contractor is a knowledgeable and trusted advisor to the Government Program Office. As an SDA Radar Systems Sustainment Engineer, you will perform engineering analysis, planning, interface design, and provide engineering support for programs in IMD 2/2STS. The ideal candidate will be an engineer who can rapidly become educated on a bespoke issue on unique systems, evaluate the cost/benefit of many potential technical solutions, and make recommendations to the government for how to proceed. Duties include, but are not limited to: Draft, review, and provide input during the development of system modification requirements and design documentation to include technical requirements; capability description and production documents; interface control; system specifications and system, test and acceptance documentationProvide proposal analysis support services that compare and quantify proposed system modifications, components, and approaches for technical feasibility, compatibility, and cost-effectivenessProvide technical recommendation support services, including reviews, studies, audits, evaluations and analyses, scientific and procedural guidance, documentation, technical analysis, and support of associated engineering IPTsSupport development of system integration plans, procedures, and scenariosParticipate in trade studies to support the selection of preferred design solutions, commercial hardware or software components, and preferred course of action alternatives in project development/system deliveryDevelop, plan, and implement, strategies; develop analysis; analyze and evaluate test results for complex system and subsystem test and evaluation activities; perform validation of systems, including the development of criteria and proceduresSupport the development of system test plans in accordance with project technical, schedule, and cost constraints, support site and system test activities with contractor and Program Office personnelCoordinate and lead resolution of system issues and deficiencies with prime contractors, depot contractors and other support contractors; monitor contractor performance during development, integration, test, and fielding eventsIdentify and track sustainment risks in support of Government activities; develop and execute technology insertion and risk reduction strategies, studies, and recommendations to mitigate identified risk conditionsProvide relevant input to acquisition planning activities, upgrades and modifications, and studies and interface with stakeholders, contractor personnel, and product integratorsTravel to CONUS and OCONUS locations upon government directionOther duties as required/requested by the Government and within the scope of the S3 contract Qualifications Citizenship: Must be a US CitizenMinimum Required Qualifications:Clearance: DoD SecretEducation: Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, Engineering Management, Information Technology, or a technical space related discipline OR, 8 years of experience in radar systems engineeringYears of Experience: 8 years of relevant experience with 4 years in a Systems Engineering, Test Engineering, or technical space analysis role in a Program Office, operational technical staff, or Sustainment organization supporting similar Department of Defense or Intelligence Community Space Surveillance systems OR, Master’s degree in systems engineering, Engineering Management, Electrical Engineering (RF), or a related discipline with 4 years of relevant experience in a Systems Engineering, Test Engineering, or technical space analysis role in a Program Office, operational technical staff, or Sustainment organization supporting similar Department of Defense or Intelligence Community Space Surveillance systemsOther Qualifications:Demonstrated ability to interact and build effective relationships and teams with government customers, FFRDCs, and contractors, working in a highly dynamic environmentSelf-motivated with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment – able to take ownership of problems and see through to completionEffective communication skills (both written and verbal) with internal and external clientsOperational understanding of Model Based System Engineering (MBSE), e.g. CameoPreferred Qualifications:Clearance: Active DoD TS/SCI clearance, amenable to polygraphEducation/Experience: Master’s Degree and/or 12 years of experience in RF engineering, signal processing, agile software development, space systems operations and analysis, Space Domain Awareness (SDA) systems test and evaluation Certifications: PMP Certification;
