Full-Time Medical Assistant/ReceptionistWe're hiring a full-time Medical Assistant/Receptionist to support our Dermatology Institute team across our Newnan and LaGrange, Georgia offices.This is a hybrid clinical and front office position ideal for someone who enjoys variety in their day and is comfortable supporting both patient care and administrative responsibilities. The Medical Assistant/Receptionist will work alongside our providers and clinical team while also assisting with front desk coverage, patient check-in/check-out, scheduling, phones, and other reception duties as needed.Candidates should be comfortable transitioning between Medical Assistant and Front Desk responsibilities based on the needs of the office each day and providing a positive, professional experience for patients throughout their visit.Dermatology experience and Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credentials are preferred but not required.ScheduleThis position supports both our LaGrange and Newnan offices each week:Monday & Tuesday: LaGrange, GA | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PMWednesday & Thursday: Newnan, GA | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PMSome Fridays: 8:00 AM - 12:00 PMReliable transportation and the ability to work at both office locations are required.ResponsibilitiesMedical Assistant Responsibilities:Room patients and prepare them for examination by the providerObtain and document patient medical history, medications, and reason for visitAssist providers during examinations, procedures, biopsies, and other dermatologic treatmentsPrepare examination rooms, instruments, and suppliesPerform phlebotomy and specimen collection as neededProvide wound care instructions and patient educationDocument patient information accurately in the electronic medical recordClean, disinfect, and restock examination roomsSupport providers and clinical staff with additional patient care needs throughout the dayFront Desk/Reception Responsibilities:Greet and check patients in and out in a friendly and professional mannerAnswer incoming phone calls and assist patients with questions or route calls appropriatelySchedule and confirm patient appointmentsVerify and update patient demographic and insurance informationCollect copays, deductibles, and other patient paymentsMaintain accurate patient records and documentationAssist with incoming faxes, medical records, and other administrative tasksCommunicate effectively with clinical staff to help maintain efficient patient flowProvide coverage and support wherever needed to ensure a positive patient experienceQualificationsRequiredHigh school diploma or GEDComfort performing both clinical Medical Assistant and front desk/reception responsibilitiesAbility to reliably commute between the LaGrange and Newnan office locationsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environmentBasic computer skills and comfort learning electronic medical record and scheduling systemsPreferredCertified Medical Assistant (CMA) credentialCompletion of a Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) programBachelor's degree in a pre-med, pre-physician assistant, or related healthcare field1-2 years of recent Medical Assistant or clinical patient care experiencePrevious dermatology experienceExperience assisting with biopsies, excisions, sutures, cryotherapy, or cosmetic proceduresExperience using an EMRPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workdayFrequent bending, reaching, twisting, balancing, and repetitive movementsFrequent use of hands and fingers for clinical procedures and documentationAbility to communicate effectively with patients, providers, and team membersAbility to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 30 poundsAbility to safely handle medical supplies, instruments, and office materialsBenefitsBenefits are available to employees working 30 or more hours per week and include:Medical, dental, and vision insuranceCompany-paid Basic Life and AD&D insuranceShort-term disabilityLong-term disabilityVoluntary life insurance for employees, spouses, and childrenCritical illness insuranceHospital indemnity insurancePaid time off (PTO)Paid holidays401(k) retirement savings planEmployee discounts on cosmetic dermatology services and skincare products
