Elevate your physical therapy career by making a difference in the lives of students with moderate to severe disabilities. This contract opportunity near Clinton Township, MI calls for a dedicated professional to work full-time in a supportive center-based program serving children and young adults from kindergarten through age 26. You'll play a crucial role in helping students develop essential skills, working onsite alongside a dynamic educational team.
Qualifications:
- Possess a current, valid Physical Therapy license for the state of Michigan (please provide a screenshot of licensure upon application)
- Prior experience providing physical therapy services in a school setting
- Comfortable working with students who have moderate to severe disabilities
- Passionate about supporting learners of varying ages and needs in an educational environment
- Self-motivated with strong communication and collaboration skills
- Able to work entirely onsite (no telehealth or remote roles)
- PTA certification is not accepted for this position
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct physical therapy services to students ages K–26 in a center-based school program
- Develop, implement, and document therapy plans in collaboration with educational staff
- Conduct assessments and provide input for Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Support educators and families through consultation and training regarding mobility and adaptive equipment
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings to inform best practices for student care and success
- Maintain detailed records in compliance with school and state guidelines
