Job Summary/Basic Function
Millersville University's Writing Center is seeking a writing tutor to provide
guidance with student papers, projects, and other writing-related needs. Required Qualifications
- Excellent written communication skills
- Excellent oral communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Computer skills (Proficiency in Microsoft Word and ability to use Zoom)
- Willingness to perform varied duties
- Ability to multitask and work with multiple projects at one time
- Must complete 3 required clearances (PA Criminal Background, Child Abuse History, and FBI Fingerprints).
- Responsible for guiding students' writing
- Responsible for assisting students in developing writing strategies
- Responsible for sharing writing resources with students
- Work in-person, on Zoom, and online
- Log tutor sessions
- Complete chosen Writing Center specialty role
- Be able to sit and use a computer for the length of shift
