Nursing Assistant PositionSummer Special ~ Up to $3K Sign-on Bonus!Ensure and enhance the health and well-being of our Residents by providing direct, routine nursing care and assisting with activities of daily living.Nursing Care FunctionsAssists with personal cares including bathing, dressing, grooming and toiletingFollows all routines, policies, and procedures to accurately measure and record vital signs, weights, food and fluid intake and output, bowel movements per facility protocolDelivers meals, assists with eating, and promptly reports any chewing or swallowing difficulties to the charge nurseAssists with the restorative nursing program to include passive and active range of motion and ambulation with appropriate assistive devicesAssists in safe transfers using a transfer belt, device, or appropriate liftAnswers call lights promptly and determines resident needsChanges bed linens and ensures that beds are neatly madeEnsures that residents are clean, neatly dressed, and well-groomedReports promptly to the charge nurse any signs of resident illness or changes in condition, to include skin condition and mental statusReports to the charge nurse any accidents or incidents involving residents and visitorsImmediately reports any suspected abuse or neglect per facility policyRemains aware and takes precautions to ensure a clean and safe environment for residents and staffOther duties and responsibilities as directed by licensed staff or supervisorsPersonnel FunctionsAttends designated nursing meetings as scheduledDevelops and maintains a good working relationship with other staff, whether within the nursing department or inter-departmental personnelCompletes assigned training and obtains at least 12 hours of continuing education per yearUtilizes materials and supplies in an efficient, cost-effective mannerFollows all facility policies and proceduresFollows standard precautions and works within OSHA guidelinesReports any equipment malfunction to the designated staff memberRemain free of criminal conviction that may preclude employment in the nursing home setting (including but not limited to theft, battery, assault)Reports any pending criminal or civil charges or matters to the Administrator by the next business dayAlways represents the United Pioneer Home in a positive manner unless contraindicated by lawRequirementsQualificationsCertification through a state-approved nursing assistant course or enrolled in approved courseMust be current on the Wisconsin State Registry within 120 days of hireOther Skills and Abilities RequiredDemonstrated concern for the elderly and ability to treat Residents with respect and dignityAbility to maintain strict confidentiality of Resident information, as per HIPAA regulationsStrong time management and teamwork skillsAbility to understand and follow work assignments and interventions in resident care plansCustomer service orientedAdequate strength and endurance to meet the strenuous physical demands of resident care responsibilities such as lifting and moving residentsCoordination and dexterity required to provide resident care skillfullyAbility to work as scheduled and adapt to changes in bi-weekly work schedulePhysical RequirementsAbility to endure prolonged walking, sitting, standing, use of pulling, bending, and stooping movementsAble to lift a minimum of 30 poundsBe in good general health and demonstrate emotional stabilityAchieve negative assessment for infection with Mycobacterium tuberculosis (TB)Remain free of illegal drug use and signs of impairment as per facility policy
