Elevator Maintenance Mechanic The University of Southern California (USC) Department of Facilities Planning & Management (FPM) is seeking an Elevator Maintenance Mechanic to join its team. Work You Will Do Perform standard elevator procedures and monitor and maintain elevators on the university campus. Respond to emergencies and assist trapped passengers. Determine materials required for maintenance or remodeling and initiate purchase requests. Prepare maintenance reports and records. Train other journeymen on specific skills and tasks. Initiate work orders for elevator maintenance repairs. The hourly rate range for this position is $47.84-$56.73. Job Qualifications Preferred Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Experience working with motion controls. Experience working with GAL door equipment. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Three years of experience in the maintenance and repair of cable and hydraulic elevators. Knowledge of city and state building codes and elevator codes. Familiarity with major elevator manufacturers and equipment. Knowledge of all elevator mechanical functions. Demonstrated ability to work independently. Demonstrated communication skills. Most possess a valid/current City of Los Angeles Department of Building Services elevator mechanic Journey level license and state of CA Certified Competent Conveyance Mechanic (CCCM) General Certification. Currently hold a valid California driver's license for a minimum of two years.
