• Start Date : Immediate start, with ongoing coverage needed.
• Holidays : Enjoy the flexibility to observe holidays, including New Year's Day, 4th of July, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
• Coverage Type : This role involves call-only coverage, focusing on handling admissions and consultations for unassigned or Emergency Department (ED) patients.
• Admissions : Admissions are required, providing the opportunity to manage a diverse range of surgical cases.
• Patient Load : Expect to handle approximately 4 patients per shift, focusing on acute surgical care.
• Call Details : This is a 24-hour shift from 7 am to 7 am the next day. General Surgeons will be covering their own patients, and this coverage is specifically for unassigned or ED patients.
• Call Type : You will receive calls via beeper for unassigned ED patients and may need to consult on inpatients as necessary.
• Consultation : While fully supported by hospitalist and ICU attending coverage, you may need to consult on inpatients when required.

• Surgical Scope : This position involves surgery only, without endoscopy procedures.
• License Requirement : A valid Massachusetts medical license is required for consideration.
• Certifications : Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
