Java Software Engineer

Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Software Engineer to join their team! This position is located in St. Louis, MO.



Core Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, and support Java Spring Boot microservices and APIs
• Build and maintain real-time event-driven data pipelines using Kafka Streams and Confluent Kafka
• Collaborate within Agile Scrum teams on user stories, troubleshooting, and sprint delivery
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable API-led integration solutions
• Troubleshoot production incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
• Develop and support RESTful APIs and GraphQL endpoints
• Automate builds and deployments using CI/CD and Infrastructure-as-Code practices
• Contribute to API development standards, architecture patterns, and best practices
• Mentor junior developers and support technical knowledge sharing
• Participate in load/performance testing and cloud-native solution development
• Work cross-functionally with architects, testers, and product teams to deliver enterprise-scale integrations

Required Skills/Experience (Must-Haves)

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Business, or related field
• 7+ years of relevant enterprise software engineering experience
• Java development experience
• Spring Boot experience
• Confluent Kafka experience
• Node.js backend development (Express/NestJS preferred)
• Strong JavaScript knowledge (Promises, async/await)
• MongoDB
• Redis
• AWS cloud services (ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, SQS/SNS, API Gateway, CloudWatch)
• Terraform / Infrastructure as Code
• SQL/RDBMS query optimization
• Python scripting and automation exposure

Work Environment

• Location: Hybrid in St. Louis, MO

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $40.00 and 58.00 per hour. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
