Deli Sales Associate

Location 200 W Ridge Pike, STE 110 Job Description The associate is responsible for the following duties and may be assigned additional responsibilities. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Keep Deli service areas well stocked and appealing to meet customer demands. Smile and greet customers, answer questions, and resolve concerns promptly and professionally. Ensure freshness and condition of merchandise in display cases, set proper prices, and correct signs. Rotate product properly, handle spoiled or damaged items or items nearing expiration per company procedures. Operate slicing equipment to provide meats and cheeses based on customer preferences. Package items and apply stickers showing price, weight, and date. Prepare ready‑to‑eat foods to individual customer orders. Prepare platters of sliced meats, cheeses, and vegetable trays, using safe knife and kitchen utensil techniques. Adhere to company recipes and safety policies when preparing food such as chicken, pizza, sandwiches, salads, and other hot or cold items. Operate cash register and follow policies for proper money handling to avoid overages or shortages. Adhere to company and state laws related to tobacco and alcohol sales. Maintain general sanitation in the department, following cleaning schedules and department guidelines to meet all health and OSHA requirements. Dispose of trash properly. Assist in inventory control through time and temperature practices, minimize losses by returning products to refrigeration, properly handling products, keeping logs, and following recipes. Assist with baling cardboard or other related duties when properly trained (training provided). Assist with receiving, unloading, checking‑in, breaking‑down, and storing deliveries using power or hand jack when properly trained (training provided). Ensure smooth function of the department and store by cooperating with co‑workers and superiors. Continuously improve job performance. Utilize all company‑provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including cut‑resistant gloves, safety cutters, and company‑sponsored footwear. Assist in other departments as required. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS The associate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without an accommodation. Completed or working toward a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED). No prior experience required.
