Auto Finance Credit Analyst - Hybrid Growth Role

Responsibilities Analyze credit data to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit Make decisions to approve or deny the extension of credit within set credit authority established by senior management and State/Federal laws Develop sufficient dealer relationships that ensure volume objectives and credit quality Capture automotive finance contracts that meet AmeriCredit profitability criteria for pricing and performance Ensure compliance with applicable policies and procedures Ensure all queues are worked to acceptable service levels Ensure branch office cooperation with other departments to maximize efficiency within the company Conduct joint dealer calls with Dealer Relationship Manager (DRM) on an as needed basis Perform outbound telemarketing calls to the dealer customer Establish and track monthly goals for assigned dealers Ensure proper documentation is received on all deals Qualifications Knowledge and Skills Knowledge of sales, credit, and funding processes in consumer finance Knowledge consumer finance and banking environment Knowledge of State and Federal regulatory requirements Knowledge of indirect retail auto financing Knowledge of motor vehicle retail installment documentation Knowledge of the Company’s credit policies Knowledge of the retail automobile finance industry Working knowledge of consumer credit, credit laws, and regulations Ability to multi-task Ability to professionally represent GM Financial Ability to work under pressure and make decisions in a fast-paced environment Customer relations skills Effective communication skills including verbal, written, and presentation Negotiation skills Sales skills necessary to develop and maintain productive dealer relationships Strong work ethic Strong analytical and problem solving skills Innovative thinker with strong ability for strategic vision Display commitment to continuous improvement of business Credit underwriting skills Ability to positively motivate, develop, coach and lead others Education & Work Experience High School Diploma or equivalent required 0-2 years background in consumer finance industry, auto finance preferred Additional Knowledge and Skills Ability to use AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) to support daily work Skills in evaluating AI outputs for accuracy, compliance, and bias Experience integrating AI into workflows to improve efficiency or insights Familiarity with AI assisted research, summarization, and content generation Understanding of responsible AI use, including ethics and data protection Benefits Generous benefits package available on day one to include: 401K matching, bonding leave for new parents (12 weeks, 100% paid), tuition assistance, training, GM employee auto discount, community service pay and nine company holidays.
