Overview Join Our Team as a Class C Delivery Driver – San Francisco PACE Supply is a leading distributor of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and water works products, proudly serving the construction and industrial markets. We’re looking for a dependable and dedicated Class C Driver to join our San Francisco team. In this role, you’ll be essential in ensuring accurate, on-time deliveries to our valued customers—helping us maintain the trust and satisfaction we’re known for. What You'll Do: Operate a bobtail flatbed truck with lift gate safely and efficiently. Deliver materials along established routes throughout San Francisco. Collaborate with warehouse staff to prepare, load, and secure orders. Provide professional, friendly service at each delivery stop. Maintain a strong focus on safety, accuracy, and timeliness. Responsibilities Driving & Logistics Operate delivery vehicles safely, obeying traffic laws and weight limits. Oversee safe loading and ensure accurate orders and high-quality products. Supervise unloading operations for accurate and safe delivery of materials. Timely Deliveries & Adaptability Ensure punctual deliveries through efficient route planning. Communicate effectively with customers regarding delays. Flexibly adapt to changing schedules and conditions. Flexibly adapt to specific customer requirements, utilizing specialized equipment if needed. Assist in warehouse duties, including loading and unloading materials as assigned Customer Service & Communication Maintain clear and constant communication with dispatch, ensuring seamless coordination for on-call assignments. Provide responsive on-call service for urgent deliveries. Provide accurate distribution and placement of building materials as per orders. Ensure appropriate paperwork accompanies order, Use of scanning equipment for pickups and deliveries. Communicate effectively with customers and address their needs promptly. Maintenance, Safety, & Compliance Adhere to regulatory and company safety directives, ensuring site safety during deliveries. Handle materials physically and oversee the safe unloading and stocking at job sites. Maintain a clean work environment, both within the vehicle and at delivery sites. Inspect vehicle regularly to ensure proper functioning of all equipment. Qualifications An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered. High school diploma or equivalent credential required. Must successfully pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening. Proficient in basic mathematical operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with numbers up to four digits. Capable of organizing items systematically by size, alphabetical order, or numerical sequence, and grouping similar items accurately. Thorough understanding of traffic regulations, with a commitment to adhering to speed limits and safe driving practices while operating a company vehicle. Familiarity with protocols for handling accidents in the warehouse or while operating a company vehicle, ensuring compliance with safety and reporting procedures. Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail to prioritize tasks effectively. Basic proficiency in operating standard office equipment (e.g., copiers, fax machines) and the ability to quickly learn new systems. Ability to acquire and apply fundamental computer skills, including email communication and inventory management software. Fluent in English, with effective reading, writing, and verbal communication skills. Physically capable of consistently lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds. Eligible to obtain certification for safe operation of forklifts and man lifts, adhering to industry standards (must be at least 18 years old to operate equipment). Prior experience in warehouse operations, plumbing, or forklift operation is advantageous but not mandatory. Minimum of two years of verifiable driving experience. Valid California driver’s license with a clean driving record, free of violations or accidents. This includes carrying, dragging, and walking with materials, as well as using a hand-truck. Prolonged periods of standing or sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Specific vision abilities required for this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. Environmental Conditions: The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. Occasionally, the employee may be exposed to high, precarious places and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
