Travel RN - TelemetryAmerican TravelerSalisbury, North Carolina, United StatesAssignment type: travelShift: NightsLength (weeks): 13Openings: 1$2,095.00/week (estimated advertised weekly pay)DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring an experienced Telemetry RN for a fast-paced cardiac and stroke unit requiring 2 years of cardiac telemetry experience and NC or compact RN licensure.DetailsPrimary cardiac and stroke telemetry unit within a hospital settingPatient population includes pre/post pacemaker and ICD implantation, cardiac catheterization, TR bands, uncomplicated peripheral vascular and cardiac interventions, unstable angina, chest pain evaluation, CHF, dysrhythmias, and new CVA/TIA patientsManages multiple cardiac drips including Cardizem, Dopamine, and Amiodarone with titration requiredTarget patient ratio of 1:5-6, with high patient turnover averaging 78-90 patients per weekTeam lead available to assist with admissions and dischargesNight shift, 3x12 hours, 18:45-07:1536 hours per week may be offeredSelf-scheduling with leadership oversight; no block scheduling permittedFloat requirement to other units as neededCall requirement with frequency dependent on patient censusEvery other weekend required, including 2 Mondays and 2 Fridays within a 6-week periodUses Pyxis and EPIC (Dimensions) for medication and documentation, with SBAR communicationUnit may care for COVID-positive patients using opti-flow and BiPAP for chronic, stable use onlyRequirementsActive RN license (NC or Compact) requiredCurrent BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certificationsMinimum 2 years of cardiac telemetry experience required (hard requirement, no exceptions)PCU experience not required, but cardiac telemetry experience is mandatoryEPIC charting experience preferredSkilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and arterial line managementExperience managing and titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips preferredExperience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and rapid response situationsExperience with pacemakers, post cardiac angiogram and cath, and pre/post cardiac surgery care preferredComfortable with non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, and nasal cannula useWound care/wound vac and insulin drip titration experience preferredAdditional InformationProvide direct patient care in a high-acuity, fast-paced telemetry environment with frequent patient turnover36 hours of unit orientation required, with availability needed every day during week oneNavy blue or white scrubs (or a mix) and Novant t-shirts permitted; matching jackets required and no crocs with holes allowedMust work 2 of the 3 major holidaysRTO of 7 days or less may be auto-approved if it does not fall on a holiday; no RTO permitted during the first week of assignmentFirst-time travelers will be considered, provided they have at least 2 years of cardiac telemetry experienceLocal candidates accepted at the standard travel rateTravel pairs are allowed if assigned to different units and disclosed at time of submissionPrevious Novant Health or New Hanover employees (PERM/PRN/EP) must wait 12 months before applying and disclose prior employment details for facility approvalCurrent travel or per diem clinicians at the facility are not eligible for this travel contract and must choose one assignment type
