Pay: $25–$35 per hour, based on experience and skill level

Red Oaks Plumbing is looking for a dependable, hardworking person to join our growing company as a Excavation Technician/Plumbing Apprentice . (We will trian you on the plumbing aspect)

This position is a little different from a traditional plumbing apprenticeship. Plumbing will be the primary focus of the job , but we need someone who already has experience operating equipment and is comfortable working around excavation, underground utilities, septic systems, grading, and other dirt work. We are looking for someone who can run a mini excavator and skid steer safely and efficiently , but who also wants to learn the plumbing trade and build a long-term career with the company.

What You'll Be Doing

• Learn and perform residential and light commercial plumbing under the direction of our lead plumber
• Assist with plumbing rough-ins, underground plumbing, repairs, water and sewer lines, and installations
• Operate mini excavators and skid steers
• Dig and backfill trenches for water, sewer, and other underground utilities
• Assist with septic system installation
• Assist with grading, drainage, and site work
• Load, unload, and maintain tools and equipment
• Perform general construction and labor tasks as needed
• Maintain a clean and organized job site
• Follow safety procedures and plumbing requirements
• Interact professionally with customers, builders, inspectors, and other contractors

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
• Experience operating a mini excavator and skid steer
• Ability to safely perform physical construction work
• Dependable attendance and willingness to work
• Ability to take direction and learn new skills
• Good attitude and willingness to work as part of a small team

Strongly Preferred:

• Previous excavation, grading, septic, utility, or construction experience
• Previous plumbing experience
• Experience installing underground water or sewer lines
• Ability to read basic plans or understand construction layouts
• Experience working around residential construction

The Right Person

We're not looking for someone who already knows everything.

We're looking for someone who knows how to work, knows how to run equipment, and wants to learn plumbing. Your excavation and equipment experience will be valuable immediately, while we'll train you in the plumbing side of the business. The goal is for you to develop into a well-rounded plumber who can handle both the plumbing and excavation side of our projects.

You should be comfortable working outside, getting dirty, lifting heavy materials, working in trenches, and doing whatever needs to be done to complete the job correctly.
