Summary This full-time teaching position is responsible for leading a Montessori Primary (3–6) classroom in an authentic, mixed-age environment. The Primary Guide supports the foundational development of independence, concentration, coordination, and a love of learning through Montessori pedagogy. This role includes, but is not limited to: Establishing warm, respectful, and trusting relationships with students and families Preparing and maintaining a beautiful, orderly, and developmentally appropriate Montessori environment Delivering individualized lessons across Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, Mathematics, and Cultural areas Observing and assessing student progress to guide instruction and support development Maintaining accurate records through the school’s student information system (Transparent Classroom) Supporting the development of independence, grace and courtesy, and social-emotional skills Modeling and fostering a peaceful, inclusive, and collaborative classroom community Partnering with an assistant teacher to support classroom consistency and student growth Collaborating with colleagues across program levels and participating in school-wide initiatives Engaging in WMS’s Student Support process to meet the needs of neurodiverse learners Building strong partnerships with families through communication, conferences, and school events Demonstrating reliability, punctuality, and professionalism in all responsibilities Qualifications (Required) The ideal candidate will have experience working with young children in a Montessori or early childhood setting. We are seeking individuals who possess: Bachelor’s degree Montessori Early Childhood (Primary) credential from an AMS, AMI, NCME, or MACTE-accredited program Strong understanding of child development (ages 3–6) Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing Ability to establish and maintain positive, collaborative relationships A commitment to ongoing personal and professional growth Alignment with Montessori philosophy and a passion for early childhood education Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in education or a related field Prior experience as a lead teacher in a Montessori Primary classroom #J-18808-Ljbffr American Montessori Society Inc
