Speech Language Pathologist Opportunity at Wellington Regional Medical Center

This opportunity is full-time at 40 hours per week, offers full benefits and a convenient day shift schedule. This position is for both outpatient and inpatient. Job Requirements: Assumes responsibility and accountability for providing comprehensive evaluation and treatment of performance components affecting cognition, swallowing, speech, language, reading and overall function. To provide goal-oriented treatment to facilitate maximum level of independence to clients suffering from disability, disease or injury. The speech language pathologist organizes, conducts, and elevates medically prescribed speech therapy programs to restore function and prevent disability following disease, injury or loss of a body part; helps patient's reach his/her maximum performance and assume a place in society while learning to live within his/her capabilities. Directs and supervises interns, externs, and clinical fellows. Recognizes the signs and symptoms of stroke and calling a stroke alert overhead. Verbalizes stroke alert process. Consults and assessments/reassessments will be performed and documented within 24 hours of admission or when feasible once patient is medically stable. Maintains currency in stroke knowledge by completing the annual 4 hours online training.

Qualifications: Graduate of accredited Graduate School of Speech & Language having earned a Masters of Art or Science Degree in Speech and Language with Certificate of Clinical Competency. Must be licensed in the state of Florida. Must have BLS certification through AHA.
