BASIC FUNCTIONS

Under direction of Program Manager, assures smooth running of all program activities. This includes but is not limited to planning, training, and implementation of all program curriculums.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Under direction of Program Manager, review and develop age-appropriate curriculum for all program participants.
• Under direction of Program Manager, review, and update program scheduling.
• Under direction of Program Manager, develop, counsel, and implement class schedules for all program participants.
• Under direction of Program Manager, assists in the daily operation of all facets of Programming.
• Under direction of Program Manager, assists in the development of instructor daily schedules.
• Under direction of Program Manager, meet at least annually with members of ID team and program participant to update program schedules where needed.
• Under direction of Program Manager, assures that all program instructors are kept abreast of all changes in program participant's schedule.
• Under direction of Program Manager, assures that program instructors maintain the consumer's functional skills, self-advocacy, employment training, community integration, self-care and social recreation as required by program design.
• Under direction of Program Manager, assures that all program instructors use age-appropriate materials and activities.
• Under direction of Program Manager, assures that all program instructors are completing all parts of student participant case records.
• Under direction of Program Manager, we assure you that all case managers are meeting all deadlines established for coordinating consumer and staff lunch schedules as needed.
• Under direction of Program Manager, address all issues/concerns involving implementation of program participant schedule.
• Under direction of Program Manager, assures staffing ratios are met as required by Program Design.
• Maintain confidentiality and ensure work activity folders are maintained with required data.
• Under direction of Program Manager, assures that all programs meet standards set down by San Diego Regional Center and other applicable requirements are maintained.
• Act as Program Manager in absence of Manager.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

Individual will regularly be required to stand, walk, sit, talk, and hear; use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; occasionally required to climb or balance; frequently bends, twists, stoops, and kneels; will assist with lifting and transferring adults to/from wheelchairs to a variety of locations within the organization or in the community. Occasionally may be required to push, pull, or lift up to 50 lbs. for purposes of consumer safety or setting up activities. May be required to work outside in all weather conditions. May be required to walk distances up to one-half mile in length. Occasionally, there will be situations requiring high stamina. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Requirements:

Qualifications & Requirements

The ideal candidate is passionate about supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, enjoys working in a collaborative team environment, and is committed to providing high-quality services that promote independence and inclusion.

Required Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Minimum Associate of Arts (AA) degree in a related field; Bachelor's degree (BA) preferred.
• Preferred six (6) months of direct care or direct training experience working with individuals with developmental, learning, or physical disabilities, or equivalent experience in social services.
• Preferred Disability Professional Services Certificate, or enrollment in Disabilities Services Management or Certificate classes.
• Must be able to conform to applicable laws, rules, and regulations pertaining to California Title 17 and Title 22 Regulations.
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Must be able to type a minimum of 35 words per minute and successfully pass a pre-employment written assessment.
• Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening.
• Must complete a pre-employment health screening, including TB testing.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain all required criminal background clearances.
• Valid California Driver's License with a clean DMV driving record and a minimum of 18 months of licensed driving experience.
