Senior MEP Design Manager

Job Title : Senior MEP Design Manager

Location: Miami

Industry: Hospitality

We are working on behalf of a client in the cruise industry to recruit an experienced Senior MEP Designer to join their team in Miami.

This role is suited to a technically strong MEP design professional with a solid background in mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems design, ideally across large-scale, complex developments. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and coordinating MEP design solutions, ensuring systems are technically sound, efficient, cost-effective and aligned with project requirements.

Candidates must be based in Miami or be willing to relocate, as this is a location requirement for the position.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) design solutions across complex projects.
• Produce, review and coordinate MEP design drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Ensure MEP systems are fully integrated with architectural, structural and other building services designs.
• Identify and resolve design clashes, technical issues and coordination challenges throughout the design process.
• Evaluate system layouts, sizing, distribution, capacity and performance to ensure efficient and practical design solutions.
• Ensure designs meet applicable building codes, technical standards, fire and life safety requirements, and project specifications.
• Consider energy efficiency, sustainability, operational performance and lifecycle costs when developing design solutions.
• Work closely with internal teams, consultants and other design disciplines to ensure coordinated and buildable designs.
• Review technical deliverables and provide design input throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support design reviews, technical problem-solving and the resolution of MEP-related queries during project execution.
• Manage design deliverables and deadlines across multiple project stages.

Requirements

• Degree or relevant qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services or a related engineering discipline.
• Approximately 10+ years of experience in MEP design and building services engineering.
• A strong, hands-on background in MEP design is essential. Candidates must have direct experience developing and delivering MEP designs, rather than solely overseeing projects or managing consultants.
• Demonstrable experience with mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, including design calculations, layouts, specifications and technical documentation.
• Experience coordinating MEP systems within complex, multidisciplinary design environments.
• Strong understanding of applicable building codes, engineering standards and fire and life safety requirements.
• Experience using relevant design software, such as AutoCAD, Revit MEP or equivalent platforms.
• Experience in large-scale commercial, hospitality, marine or cruise-related projects would be advantageous.
• Must be based in Miami, Florida, or willing to relocate to Miami.
