Principal Data Architect

Location: Dallas, TX (They are open to people that will relocate at the 6 month mark when they go full time)


-once full time, they will need to be onsite 1-2 days a week with all of the other leaders because this is a very high level role


Contract to hire - USC or GC ONLY


Need Excellent Soft skills - no someone who is going to consider themselves the smartest person in the room

  • Business facing role - understanding technical requirements, taking business requirement
  • Needs data modeling
  • Lead team in the past
  • From a data stand point - MUST understand (healthcare or pharma background)
  • How can you used information and create dimensional schemas
  • Technologies: SQL and Databricks (data modeling)
he Principal Data Architect will have responsibility for partnering across the organization to take new products/solutions from inception to scalable, compliant systems - including designing, implementing, and managing the data infrastructure. . The Principal Data Architect will work in a collaborative team environment to assess requirements, define technical strategy, and deliver solutions that help the organization migrate data solutions to new cloud infrastructure, as well as manage this system once migrated. The Data Architect must also have an understanding of modern data architecture strategies, a vision for proper data management, system design, and will help drive strategies around implementing and improving data activities utilizing modern tools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Architect decisions with a focus on business value. Adjust and architect due to an evolving business, regulatory and technical landscape.
  • Guidance to invest in the right capabilities, lower cost & complexity, while improving speed to market Provide technical guidance to the technical and product teams that addresses business value and customer objectives
  • Ability to communicate fluently in data architecture, business and technical terminology and traverse seamlessly among each as needs and audience dictate
  • Influence strategic decision making with internal and external stakeholders through positive collaboration
  • Proactively research and share best practices on emerging technologies to enable continuous improvement
  • Innovate to help our clients, product and account management teams solve tough problems
  • Support and champion collaboration and best practices within the McKesson technical community
Minimum Requirement


Degree or equivalent and typically requires 10+ years, with 8+ years, of direct work-related experience.


Education


4-year degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience


Critical Skills
  • 10+ years as a Solutions Architect with recent hands-on development experience
  • 5+ years in a lead or principal role
  • 5+ years cloud experience (Azure, Amazon, Google); Azure is a plus
  • 5+ years working in an Agile environment
  • Technical build out of POCs (Proof of Concepts)
  • Advanced knowledge of distributed software systems, design patterns and data architecture principles
Additional Skills

  • Healthcare or pharmacy domain experience is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
