Job Title

Progressive Care RN – Cardiac Stepdown

Location

Hilo, HI | Progressive Care Unit

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Rotating Shift | 36 hours per week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide primary nursing care to patients in a 15-bed Progressive Care Unit, including a 3-bed Step Down ICU and 12-bed telemetry unit
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:4 for Progressive Care and 1:3 for Step Down ICU
• Perform telemetry monitoring and telemetry strip reading
• Conduct fingerstick blood sugar monitoring
• Utilize unit equipment including Meditech charting, Pyxis medication dispensing, BIPAP, and continuous cardiac monitoring
• Float to other acute care units within the facility, including Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, and ER as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; active State of Hawaii RN license required by start of assignment
• Minimum 1 year of hospital acute care experience within the last year
• Ability to work a rotating shift schedule with no guaranteed hours and no on-call requirement
• Compliance with facility dress code (scrubs)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Progressive Care and telemetry experience strongly preferred
• ACLS certification preferred
• Current PALS certification preferred
• NIHSS certification preferred
