Senior Project Manager / Sr. Project Specialist – New Vehicle Launch

Location: Toledo, OH
Travel: Approximately 41–60% travel to Toledo, OH and Auburn Hills, MI
Job Type: Contract
Pay Rate: $58.62/hour

Position Overview

Stellantis is seeking a Senior Project Manager / Sr. Project Specialist to support new vehicle launches across multiple manufacturing locations. This role will be responsible for implementing MCE Launch Standards throughout the entire launch process and leading cross-functional teams to ensure new vehicle programs are launched on time, within budget, and to quality and production targets .

The Sr. Project Specialist will work closely with Corporate Planning, Production Management, Vehicle Process Engineering, Product Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and plant leadership to coordinate launch activities, resolve issues, manage project schedules, and drive successful vehicle launch execution.

This is a highly visible role requiring strong automotive program management experience, manufacturing leadership, analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively with all levels of management and labor.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional teams through successful new vehicle launches , ensuring programs are delivered on time and within budget.
• Develop, maintain, and track resource plans, Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), and master project plans .
• Establish project funding requirements and monitor project status against budget.
• Lead Steering Committee meetings , communicate project status, and escalate critical issues and risks.
• Develop pilot schedules and track planned vs. actual performance through daily pilot meetings and reporting.
• Manage global KPIs, KAIs, GVDs , and other launch performance metrics.
• Identify, communicate, and escalate project risks and priority concerns.
• Prepare for and support IH reviews , including planning and execution.
• Coordinate and lead cross-functional workshops to resolve major launch and manufacturing issues.
• Lead issue-resolution meetings with key stakeholders and ensure timely follow-through on action items.
• Partner with team leads, Quality, Engineering, and Manufacturing to ensure objectives are achieved at both station and plant levels.
• Develop strong relationships with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to understand new product requirements, manufacturing processes, and build sequence .
• Develop and improve work methods to support launch readiness, productivity, quality, and output.
• Partner with functional and operations managers to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Support the Stellantis Industrial System (SIS) , particularly activities associated with the Launch Domain (LD) .
• Support WPI (Workplace Integration) activities.
• Coordinate activities across multiple locations and maintain effective communication between project teams.
• Serve as a change agent, driving accountability and continuous improvement throughout the launch process.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum of 8 years of automotive industry experience .
• Minimum of 3 years of program/project management experience .
• Demonstrated leadership experience within a manufacturing environment .
• Strong project planning, organization, and execution skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong computer skills and proficiency with project tracking and reporting tools.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and interface effectively with all levels of management and labor .
• Highly motivated, self-directed professional with the ability to drive change and influence stakeholders.
• Ability and willingness to travel approximately 41–60% between Toledo, OH and Auburn Hills, MI.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a seasoned automotive program/project manager with significant experience leading new vehicle launches in a manufacturing environment. This individual should be comfortable managing complex cross-functional projects, tracking schedules and budgets, leading meetings with senior stakeholders, resolving manufacturing issues, and driving teams toward launch milestones.

Candidates should be strong communicators, highly organized, analytical, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with significant interaction across Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Production, and leadership teams .

• The role supports multiple manufacturing locations and requires approximately 41–60% travel .
