Operational LeadershipProvide leadership and direction for all resort departments while ensuring consistent execution of company standards.Establish and maintain Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs) that promote operational excellence, efficiency, and exceptional service.Monitor daily resort operations to ensure guest satisfaction, quality assurance, safety, and cleanliness.Partner with department leaders to identify operational improvements and implement best practices.Ensure all resort amenities pools, hot tubs, recreational areas, and public spaces are maintained to the highest standards and comply with all safety regulations.Guest ExperienceChampion a culture centered on outstanding guest service.Maintain a visible leadership presence throughout the resort, engaging with guests, homeowners, and team members.Review guest feedback, online reputation scores, surveys, and service metrics, implementing action plans to continuously improve satisfaction.Ensure guest concerns are resolved promptly and professionally.Foster memorable guest experiences that build loyalty and positive online reviews.Financial ManagementManage annual operating budgets.Analyze financial performance, including profit and loss statements, labor costs, departmental expenses, and revenue trends.Drive profitability while maintaining exceptional guest satisfaction and employee retention.Partner with corporate leadership on forecasting, budgeting, capital planning, and revenue optimization.Oversee purchasing, inventory controls, expense management, and cost containment initiatives.Support revenue management strategies that maximize occupancy, ADR, and RevPAR.Food & Beverage LeadershipProvide executive oversight of all Food & Beverage operations.Partner with the Food & Beverage Manager to ensure exceptional service, food quality, staffing, scheduling, and profitability.Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and regulatory standards.Support menu innovation and operational efficiencies that enhance both guest satisfaction and financial performance.Leadership and Team DevelopmentRecruit, develop, coach, and retain high-performing leaders.Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement, including improving employee retention.Conduct regular leadership meetings focused on operational performance and strategic priorities.Provide coaching, performance evaluations, and professional development opportunities.Promote an inclusive workplace built on respect, integrity, and teamwork.Ensure compliance with all employment laws and company policies.Property Maintenance & SafetyPartner closely with the Engineering team to maintain the resort in exceptional condition.Ensure preventative maintenance programs are consistently executed.Oversee compliance with OSHA, health department requirements, fire safety regulations, and company safety standards.Ensure work orders, capital projects, vendor management, guest services systems, and engineering systems are properly managed.Maintain preparedness for emergencies, hurricanes, and business continuity planning.QualificationsMinimum five years of General Manager or senior hotel operations leadership experience within a full-service hotel or resort.Demonstrated success leading multiple operational departments.Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, P&L statements, labor management, and cost controls.Experience with property management systems (PMS), point of sale systems (POS), revenue management, and hospitality technology.Exceptional leadership, communication, and decision making skills.Proven ability to build, mentor, and retain high performing teams.Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple operational demands.Knowledge of the North Myrtle Beach/Myrtle Beach hospitality market is preferred.Benefits401(k) with Company matchMedical InsuranceDental InsuranceVision InsurancePaid VacationWhy Join Avista ResortAt Avista Resort, we believe exceptional guest experiences begin with exceptional leadership.
