Registered Nurse Cath Lab

Job Summary:


The Registered Nurse in the Cath Lab is responsible for providing specialized nursing care in an acute care hospital setting. This role involves performing patient assessments, medication administration, treatment planning, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team within the catheterization laboratory. The nurse must have a minimum of 1.5 to 2 years of relevant experience, possess strong clinical skills, and maintain certifications such as ACLS and BLS. Effective communication, teamwork, and adherence to hospital policies are critical to success in this role.

Responsibilities:

• Provide skilled nursing care to patients undergoing catheterization procedures.
• Perform patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and manage patient care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with physicians, technicians, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure quality patient care.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Meditech electronic charting system.
• Participate in on-call rotations and respond promptly to patient care needs.
• Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards.
• Assist with unit needs including weekend coverage as required.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.
• Minimum 1.5 to 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in Cath Lab or acute care settings.
• Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• Experience with EPIC electronic medical records system.
• Strong clinical assessment and treatment planning skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, acute care environment.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience specifically in catheterization laboratory nursing.
• Familiarity with Meditech charting system.
• Previous experience with scheduling accommodations and block scheduling.

Special Considerations:

• On-call requirement: 7 days on call per pay period, including 2 nights per week (post-shift) and 1 weekend every 2 weeks.
• Weekend coverage may exceed every other weekend to meet unit needs.
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position.
• Requests for schedule changes due to outside employment will not be considered.
• Return to Office (RTO) restrictions must be included at the time of submission.
• Pending licenses are not accepted.

Scheduling:

• Shift assignments include nights and weekends as part of the on-call rotation.
• Block scheduling accommodations may be available at manager's discretion.
• Guaranteed hours with potential for call-offs once per two-week pay period.
