Description

American Traveler is hiring a Travel RN for an Orthopedic Operating Room position requiring large joint and spine surgical experience with a TX or compact RN license.

Details

• Orthopedic hospital setting on the 2nd floor Operating Room with 17 operating rooms
• One scrub and one circulator staffed per room with support techs available for positioning and other duties
• Most surgeons are assisted by a PA, CST, or NP during procedures
• Day shift schedule with no night shift coverage
• Procedures include large joint, hand, foot, and scope orthopedic surgeries as well as spine (no neurosurgery)
• Uses Meditech EMR
• Shift runs 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM with staff reporting at 6:45 AM for huddle on Mon/Wed/Fri; shift ends at 5:15 PM those days with no second shift relief
• On-call requirement of approximately 4 times per month, Monday through Friday only, with no weekend call
• Call typically involves staying over to finish cases

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Operating Room specialty required
• Large joint and spine orthopedic surgical experience required
• Experience in total joints and spine procedures preferred
• No gaps in work history totaling 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (Canadian SSNs not accepted)

• ER on-site is not trauma designated and has 1 bed
• Unit staffed by approximately 70 team members
• Scrub color required is Ciel Blue (sky blue); scrubs are not provided by the facility
• Free parking garage available for employees and contractors
• Facility recognized for top employee and physician engagement within HCA
• Consistently maintains greater than 90% patient satisfaction ratings
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates will not be considered
