Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse (RN) Specialty: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2+ years of Intensive Care Unit (ICU) experience License: Active Illinois RN License Certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA) Must-Have: Skills Checklist current to 1 year pertinent to the specialty, 2 Supervisory Reference Forms completed with employment dates listed Description: Registered Nurses in the Intensive Care Unit are responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized patient care delivery. Assess the patient’s physical and psychosocial status in a comprehensive manner utilizing age-specific data. Demonstrate accurate assessment skills appropriate to the age of the patient. Perform ongoing assessments and complete required documentation within organizational standards. Conduct and document observations, physical examinations, laboratory/test results, and patient responses to procedural interventions. Participate in identifying and clarifying patient needs by engaging in multidisciplinary care planning to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Assist other staff in the delivery of patient care as appropriate. Incorporate patient teaching and discharge planning to promote optimal patient outcomes.
