Housekeeping Position

Job Summary:

Performs daily housekeeping duties inside and outside facility under supervision of housekeeping supervisor.

Job Responsibilities:

• Sweeps, dust mops, damp/wet mops floors in hallways, offices and common areas daily
• Cleans soiled areas, empties trash cans, replaces can liners, cleans bathrooms, sinks, toilets and other areas
• Keeps equipment and work areas clean, safe organized and keeps equipment and supplies properly stored
• Communicates courteously with staff in other departments to adequately meet the needs of the residents
• Ensures equipment and work areas are clean, safe and orderly and all cleaning solutions are properly labeled
• Maintains cleanliness of all baseboards throughout the building
• Helps clean tables and floors in dining room and day rooms after meals
• Cleans and changes privacy curtains and drapery in residents' rooms as scheduled, or as needed
• Cleans carpets, including vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing and disinfecting

Qualifications:

Must be able to read and write at a level necessary to understand company policies, applicable laws and regulations regarding job duties; prefer previous housekeeping experience in a long-term care facility; must be in good physical condition and able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.; must pass drug screens and have a satisfactory criminal history background check.
