PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse (RN)
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse to join our team. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of pre-operative and post-anesthesia care, and the ability to provide high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing various surgical procedures.
Shift Information
- Night shift: 5:00 PM – 5:30 AM
- Shifts rotate between closing and opening
- Weeknight and weekend on-call responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Provide preoperative and postoperative care to patients in the PACU.
- Monitor patient condition and adjust care plans as necessary.
- Assist with patient education regarding surgical procedures and recovery.
- Collaborate with surgeons and anesthesiologists to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant nursing experience required.
- Experience in Pre/Post anesthesia care is required.
- Proficiency in Epic electronic health records experience is required.
- Experience in a Level 1 trauma or outpatient setting is preferred.
- PACU experience is preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred.
- Previous charge nurse experience is preferred.
Patient Care Ratio
The patient ratio is 1:1, ensuring individualized attention and care for each patient.
Unit Details
You will be working in a unit that handles a variety of surgical procedures, including:
- CABG (Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting)
- AAA repair (Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm)
- TAVR (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement)
- EVAR (Endovascular Aneurysm Repair)
- Fem-Pop/Fem-Tib-Peroneal Bypass
- Angiogram
- Pulmonary decortication
- Ablation procedures
