Bar Back

Great bar experiences happen when strong teams work together behind the scenes. As a Bar Back, you'll support our bartenders and Food & Beverage team by keeping the bar stocked, organized, clean, and ready to deliver exceptional guest experiences in a fast-paced hospitality environment. This role is perfect for someone who's energetic, dependable, team-focused, and enjoys working in a lively restaurant, bar, or nightlife setting. You'll help keep operations running smoothly while learning the ins and outs of hospitality and beverage service. What you'll be doing

• Support bartenders and bar operations by restocking liquor, beer, wine, mixers, garnishes, glassware, ice, and bar supplies throughout shifts.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization across bar areas, service stations, storage rooms, and guest-facing spaces.
• Assist with bar setup, breakdown, opening duties, and closing side work.
• Wash and polish glassware, restock inventory, and help maintain smooth beverage service during high-volume periods.
• Remove empty bottles, trash, and used glassware while keeping work areas clean and safe.
• Support restaurant, lounge, banquet, and event operations as needed.
• Follow food safety procedures, sanitation standards, responsible alcohol service guidelines, and hotel operational policies.
• Partner closely with Bartenders, Servers, Culinary teams, and Food & Beverage leadership to support exceptional guest experiences.
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to leadership proactively.
• Help create a positive, energetic, and team-oriented atmosphere aligned with Sonesta's People People culture.
• Any other duties as assigned.

What great looks like

• Previous restaurant, bar, hospitality, food runner, bar back, or Food & Beverage experience preferred.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-energy hospitality environment.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask and remain proactive during busy service periods.
• Strong attention to cleanliness, safety, and operational detail.
• Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, holidays, and event support as needed.
• Positive attitude with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
• A passion for hospitality, teamwork, guest service, and creating memorable food & beverage experiences.
