Wastewater Plant Operator

Location: Brookshire, TX 77423 Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour Schedule: Tuesday–Saturday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM Industry: Food Manufacturing and Processing Job Overview Oncall Staffing is seeking a skilled, dependable, and hands‑on Wastewater Plant Operator for a large‑scale food manufacturing and distribution facility in Brookshire, Texas. The facility processes and packages food products and operates industrial production equipment, water systems, and wastewater treatment infrastructure. We are looking for a versatile candidate who can operate water pumps, safely operate a forklift, use mechanical tools, troubleshoot equipment, and assist with general facility maintenance. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on problem solver who can handle a variety of tasks and work independently when needed. Key Responsibilities Operate, monitor, and assist in maintaining water pumps and wastewater equipment. Monitor water and wastewater systems and report unusual conditions, leaks, or equipment malfunctions. Assist with routine inspections and preventative maintenance. Use hand tools and mechanical tools to perform basic repairs and adjustments. Operate a forklift to transport materials, equipment, and supplies safely. Assist with troubleshooting mechanical and operational issues. Help maintain pumps, valves, piping, and related equipment within the scope of training and authorization. Maintain accurate operational records and report maintenance concerns. Follow environmental regulations, company procedures, and workplace safety requirements. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Assist with other facility duties as needed. Required Qualifications Bilingual in English and Spanish. Previous experience operating water pumps or similar water-handling equipment. Previous forklift operating experience. Experience using mechanical tools and performing basic maintenance. Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities. Ability to perform physical work and handle multiple responsibilities. Dependable, punctual, safety-conscious, and willing to learn. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in wastewater treatment, industrial maintenance, manufacturing, or food processing. Familiarity with pumps, valves, piping systems, and equipment inspections. Experience with preventative maintenance and equipment troubleshooting. Important: Candidates must be comfortable performing hands‑on work in an industrial food production environment.
