Physical Therapist (PT) | Inpatient, Outpatient, LTC

Location: Avera St. Benedict Hospital Worker Type: Regular Work Shift: Day Shift (United States of America) Pay Range: $37.25 - $56.25 (actual pay rate dependent upon experience) Position Highlights Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. No weekends. 1 holiday per year. Student Loan Repayment: Avera may contribute $167 per month (up to $10,000) to help offset your loan principal. Brief Overview Responsible for the daily coordination and delivery of physical therapy services, implementing specific treatment programs for individual patients and patient groups according to the principles and practices of physical therapy and the established objectives of the department. What you will do Evaluate assigned patients, gathering data from patient records, interviews, observation, and team members. Develop and implement individualized treatment programs for patients requiring services. Review plan of care with patient, instruct patient, family, or caregivers in home program or exercise as appropriate. Use selected activities and tasks to promote and maintain health, achieve treatment goals, and modify interventions based on ongoing evaluation. Provide direct therapy services in various functional settings, coordinating with rehabilitation, medical, and nursing care plans. Prepare documentation such as evaluation results, individualized treatment plans, progress notes, and other reports as required by the profession and the department. Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and other disciplinary team members regarding status, progress, and needs. Attend care conferences when applicable. Establish rapport and work cooperatively with interdisciplinary team members (including family and physician). Enhance professional growth through participation in educational programs, current literature, in‑service meetings, workshops, etc. Oversee physical therapy assistants, techs, and students, ensuring safe patient care and smooth departmental operations. Maintain knowledge of proper use of equipment for patient care. Essential Qualifications The individual must be able to work the hours specified and perform each essential job function satisfactorily, including adequate visual acuity and the ability to communicate effectively. Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience Physical Therapist – active license in the state of practice upon hire. Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience Licensed physical therapist.
