Project Controls Specialist (Scheduling-Focused)

Duration : 12 months, with potential for conversion

Rate : $50+ an hour, dependent on experience (looking for 2+ years with P6)

Hybrid: In office Tuesday-Thursday. Remote on Monday & Friday.

Overview

Our client is building a new Project Controls function to improve scheduling accuracy, cost reporting, and data integrity across major utility infrastructure projects. This role will take ownership of scheduling activities in Primavera P6, work closely with project managers and vendors, and support the team with cost reporting and ad‑hoc project controls responsibilities.

This is an opportunity to help shape a new team, build processes from the ground up, and directly influence major grid‑modernization projects across Colorado—including a $30M substation construction effort in downtown Denver.

Business Objective

This person will ensure accurate schedule development, timely updates, reliable reporting, and seamless coordination between vendors, field crews, and project managers.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

- Receive construction schedules from vendors and field crews

- Review incoming schedules for quality, gaps, and logic errors

- Perform schedule checks with PMs to identify slipping tasks and risks

- Upload and maintain schedules in P6

- Support cost reporting through data coordination and analysis

- Identify schedule data issues and trends

- Collaborate across PMs, engineers, and stakeholders
