Quality Manager

We are working with an automotive client in the Bardstown area who is seeking a Quality Manager to join their team. The Quality Manager will mentor department associates and engineers in all areas of quality related activities, productions quality systems, dimensional control processing, and PPAP functions . This is a direct hire position that would be in office 5 days a week. No sponsorship is available. No B2C/C2C. Must live in the Louisville or Bardstown area. No relocation available. Duties Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive quality management systems aligned with IATF 16949, ISO standards and other relevant regulations. Lead regular quality audits to assess compliance with HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point), GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), FDA regulations, and other legal standards. Oversee quality inspections throughout the manufacturing process, ensuring products meet established quality standards in production. Facilitate cross-functional communication between production, engineering, supply chain, and regulatory teams to resolve quality issues swiftly. Drive continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Six Sigma methodologies and Lean management principles to optimize manufacturing efficiency and reduce defects. Conduct root cause analysis for non-conformances using analysis skills like GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and statistical tools. Lead and mentor the quality team which includes engineers, technicians and quality supervisor to uphold rigorous QA/QC protocols while fostering a culture of accountability. Requirements Proven experience practicing in an automotive manufacturing engineering role with a strong focus on quality assurance and control. Extensive knowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 standards, PPAP and APQP. Demonstrated expertise in conducting quality audits, inspections, and implementing corrective actions. Strong understanding of quality systems such as ISO, Six Sigma manufacturing, QA/QC processes, and Lean management techniques. Proficiency in analysis skills including GD&T for precise measurement and inspection activities. Excellent team leadership abilities combined with cross-functional communication skills to coordinate efforts across departments and with a broad customer base. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail under tight deadlines. Certifications such as Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt are highly desirable; experience practicing in manufacturing environments is essential. Basic Education, Experience and Requirements: Must have a minimum of 2 years in relevant Engineering or Quality experience with a similar company with similar products. Ability to interpret Engineering and Quality information. Must have demonstrated Management/Leadership experience. Must have experience in developing and maintaining automotive customer relationships. IATF certification strongly preferred.
